La comprensi\u00f3n aislada de la imagen fotogr\u00e1fica resulta quim\u00e9rica. Imagen fotogr\u00e1fica y texto, pese a responder a dos ordenes completamente diferenciados- el primero, el de la visi\u00f3n, el segundo, el lingu\u00edstico-aparecen entrelazados hist\u00f3ricamente de forma indisoluble. La aparici\u00f3n de la imagen fotogrbafica en el seno de la sociedad decimon\u00f3nica, represent\u00f3 una revoluci\u00f3n en el primero.  frente a la manualidad que hab\u00eda dominado a lo largo de la historia la producci\u00f3n de im\u00e1genes, la naciente tecnolog\u00eda fotogr\u00e1fica supuso de un modo radical la introducci\u00f3n de la reproductibilidad t\u00e9cnica en la realizaci\u00f3n y difusi\u00f3n de estas. Unas im\u00e1genes que, desde el hermanamiento de las tecnolog\u00edas \u00f3ptica, qu\u00edmica y mec\u00e1nica, impulsan ya desde su mismo surgimiento una densa envoltura de textos de y sobre ellas. En un sentido amplio, la presente investigaci\u00f3n trata de las relaciones entre textos e im\u00e1genes fotogr\u00e1ficas, del modo en que unos y otras se articulan en un proceso de enunciaci\u00f3n un\u00edvoco, en un discurso. En un sentido m\u00e1s espec\u00edfico, la investigaci\u00f3n se concentra en un momento de cambio y desplazamiento discursivo: aquel que vive el hecho fotogr\u00e1fico en su tr\u00e1nsito
