En este trabajo se describe la participaci\u00f3n de la upa en uno de estos procesos:  la formaci\u00f3n del m\u00fasculo esquel\u00e9tico o miog\u00e9nesis. La inhibici\u00f3n de la upa con anticuerpos neutralizantes es capaz de inhibir tanto la fusi\u00f3n como la diferenciaci\u00f3n muscular in vitro. As\u00edmismo, el fgf-2 y el suero, que modulan la miog\u00e9nesis i la regeneraci\u00f3n muscular, inducen la expresi\u00f3n de la upa en c\u00e9lulas musculares, a trav\u00e9s de un elemento pea3\/ap1 del promotor de la upa i de la cascada de transducci\u00f3n de se\u00f1ales ras\/erk2. El an\u00e1lisis de los elementos en cis que regulan la expressi\u00f3n de la upa en mioblastos ha demostrado tambi\u00e9n que, ademas del elemento pea3\/ap1, una secuencia cre\/ccaat\/carg es as\u00edmismo necesaria para la actividad transcripcional de este promotor. Finalmente, se demuestra que la luz ultravioleta (uv) induce la expresi\u00f3n de upa en fibroblastos, a trav\u00e9s de dos elementos ap1 del promotor del gen de la upa y de la cascada
