En ambos casos se ha caracterizado el mecanismo de se\u00f1alamiento intracelular, que implica la activaci\u00f3n de un receptor acoplado a prote\u00ednas g (gi), que activa una fosfolipasa c espec\u00edfica de fosfatidilcolina (pc-plc) y una diacilglicerol quinasa (dagk), dando lugar a la generaci\u00f3n de \u00e1cido fosfat\u00eddico, que induce liberaci\u00f3n de calcio al citosol a partir de dep\u00f3sitos intracelulares sensibles a este fosfol\u00edpido.  los compuestos aislados y caracterizados bioqu\u00edmicamente son fosfol\u00edpidos complejos de elevado peso molecular,
