En ella han sido desarrollados un conjunto de modelos sencillos para el diagn\u00f3stico y la predicci\u00f3n del proceso de combusti\u00f3n y de las emisiones contaminantes.  el modelo b\u00e1sico desarrollado es un modelo de los llamados de dos zonas cuasidimensionales, que permite la introducci\u00f3n de la geometr\u00eda de cualquier c\u00e1mara de combusti\u00f3n a trav\u00e9s de un submodelo geom\u00e9trico basado en elementos finitos. Este modelo b\u00e1sico de partida, permite en su versi\u00f3n predictiva distintos esquemas de ejecucuci\u00f3n con distintas capacidades de predicci\u00f3n, lo cual puede resultar de gran utilidad en labores de s\u00edntesis, cuando se pretende optimizar par\u00e1metros de funcionamiento y dise\u00f1o.  sobre el modelo de partida se asientan los modelos desarrollados para el c\u00e1lculo de las emisiones contaminantes. para la predicci\u00f3n de las emisiones de mon\u00f3xido de carbono (co) y \u00f3xidos de nitr\u00f3geno (nox) se ha implementado un modelo basado en la cin\u00e9tica qu\u00edmica que en su versi\u00f3n m\u00e1s compleja supone todas las especies controladas por la cin\u00e9tica. Los modelos para el c\u00e1lculo de las emisiones de escape de hidrocarburos sin quemar (hc) suponen una ampliaci\u00f3n del n\u00famero de zonas del modelo de partida, para contemplar la retenci\u00f3n-liberaci\u00f3n en los huecos del conjunto pist\u00f3n-segmentadura, el apagado de la llama en la pared y las combustiones secundarias dentro del cilindro y en la pipa de escape.  de la comparaci\u00f3n entre los resultados calculados y resultados experimentales se desprende que el conjunto de modelos desarrollados constituyen una herramienta adecuada para la predicci\u00f3n de las
