Para explicar las causas que producen y controlan la atomizaci\u00f3n primaria se ha desarrollado una investigaci\u00f3n experimental sobre la formaci\u00f3n y crecimiento de inestabilidades en un atomizador de geometr\u00eda plana asistido por aire. Esta geometr\u00eda resulta id\u00f3nea para este tipo de estudios b\u00e1sicos por su sencillez.  ello explica la creciente popularidad que ha adquirido el estudio de atomizaci\u00f3n de l\u00e1minas l\u00edquidas. Sin embargo, los trabajos anteriores se hab\u00edan limitado al an\u00e1lisis visual de la topolog\u00eda de las estructuras que aparecen sobre el medio l\u00edquido, sin prestar la atenci\u00f3n que requieren los conflujos de aire. Partiendo de un cuidadoso dise\u00f1o del cabezal atomizador, en el que, a diferencia de estudios anteriores, aire y l\u00edquido presentan a la salida velocidades paralelas, se ha demostrado la importancia que tiene la interacci\u00f3n din\u00e1mica aire-agua en los procesos de atomizaci\u00f3n, as\u00ed como el papel del mecanismo de vorticidad en la rotura de la l\u00e1mina l\u00edquida.  las t\u00e9cnicas y m\u00e9todos de medida empleados han sido lo m\u00e1s novedoso del trabajo. A las usuales fotografias de alta velocidad y medidas de frecuencias de oscilaci\u00f3n, se han unido por primera vez t\u00e9cnicas de visualizaci\u00f3n simult\u00e1nea de las dos fases fluidas, ut\u00edlizando fluorescencia planar inducida por l\u00e1ser &#8211; plif &#8211; y dispersi\u00f3n de mie. La visualizaci\u00f3n monof\u00e1sica de los chorros de aire y su comparaci\u00f3n con im\u00e1genes en las cu\u00e1les se visualizan ambas fases, han permitido sacar conclusiones acerca del papel que juegan estos conflujos en el comportamiento din\u00e1mico de la l\u00e1mina.
