La escasez de estudios en el polen de esta familia y la ausencia casi total de datos en m\u00e9jico nos ha llevado al estudio de 104 especies de cact\u00e1ceas que representan a todos los g\u00e9neros de esta familia en m\u00e9jico. Para ello se ha realizado un estudio a mo, meb y met, y para aclarar la estructuraci\u00f3n de su pared y apertura se ha realizado la ontogenia del polen de opontia ficus-indica.  se han establecido 4 tipos pol\u00ednicos b\u00e1sicos: i. tricolpado con 55 especies, ii. Pantocolpado con 20 especies, iii. Sincolpado con 1 especie y iv pantoporado con 30 especies. Por la ornamentaci\u00f3n ex\u00ednica se han establecido los subtipos: microequinulada-perforada que constituye la m\u00e1s representada, equinulada-perforada, microreticulada-microequinulada, insulado-perforada-equinulada, reticulado-pilada y psilado-microfoveolada. estos datos ponen en evidencia que las cact\u00e1ceas menos evolucionadas corresponden a la subfamilia cacteoideae y las m\u00e1s evolucionadas al g\u00e9nero opuntia de la subfamilia opuntioideae. la especie de pereskia estudiada posee polen pantocolpado, aunque la existencia de especies tricolpadas hace que se considere como g\u00e9nero basal. El g\u00e9nero nopalea ha mantenido un t\u00e9ctum imperforado que es un car\u00e1cter ancestral.  seg\u00fan el tama\u00f1o pol\u00ednico se delimita la subfamilia opuntioidae, con p\u00f3lenes magnos y permagnos. este mayor tama\u00f1o, as\u00ed como la existencia de microp\u00f3lenes en esta subfamilia parece estar relacionado con el mayor nivel de ploid\u00eda y el origen h\u00edbrido de estos t\u00e1xones.  desde el punto de vista de la ultraestructura de la pared y apertura caben destacar 6 modelos de estructuraci\u00f3n de la pared donde la endexina es delgada y fragmentada y la ectexina se estratifica en t\u00e9ctum, infrat\u00e9ctum y base existiendo variaciones a nivel del t\u00e9ctum<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
