En el modelo de gir\u00f3stato considerado se supone que los componentes del gir\u00f3stato no son perfectamente r\u00edgidos, sino que poseen cierta elasticidad, de tal forma que los momentos de inercia del gir\u00f3stato var\u00edan peri\u00f3dicamente con el tiempo. el modelo que se propone es m\u00e1s realista que la simple aproximaci\u00f3n r\u00edgida, y pone de manifiesto fen\u00f3menos ca\u00f3ticos en la din\u00e1mica del sistema.  en el cap\u00edtulo 1, se desarrolla la formulaci\u00f3n hamiltoniana del problema gen\u00e9rico de un gir\u00f3stato libre con plataforma triaxial y tres rotores cuyos ejes se encuentran alineados seg\u00fan tres direcciones cualesquiera. Esta formulaci\u00f3n se desarrolla en un conjunto de variables no can\u00f3nicas: las componentes del momento angular total en el sistema de referencia m\u00f3vil unido a la plataforma.  en el cap\u00edtulo 2, se estudia un gir\u00f3stato axial perturbado con un momento de inercia variable, y con el rotor en reposo relativo respecto a la plataforma. aplicando el m\u00e9todo de melnikov y secciones de poincar\u00e9 se demuestra que el sistema exhibe caos heterocl\u00ednico en una banda alrededor de la separatriz no perturbada, independientemente del momento de inercia que sea variable. Tambi\u00e9n se realizan estimaciones num\u00e9ricas y anal\u00edticas de la anchura de dicha banda de estocasticidad.  en los cap\u00edtulos 3 y 4 se considera la acci\u00f3n de un rotor en la din\u00e1mica del sistema. En el cap\u00edtulo 3 el eje del rotor coincide con el eje principal del sistema con m\u00ednimo momento de inercia. Haciendo uso de las mismas t\u00e9cnicas, mostramos que cuando el rotor alcanza un momento angular relativo suficientemente elevado, se produce la eliminaci\u00f3n del comportamiento ca\u00f3tico del gir\u00f3stato.
