Centrado en el an\u00e1lisis de las caracter\u00edsticas de su organizaci\u00f3n social, pol\u00edtica, territorial y religiosa, realizado desde las fuentes etnogr\u00e1ficas y epigr\u00e1ficas de \u00e9poca clasica.  en primer lugar (cap.1) se hace un an\u00e1lisis historiogr\u00e1fico de la reconstrucci\u00f3n de la sociedad castre\u00f1a, centrada habitualmente en el problema de su organizaci\u00f3n socio-territorial y en concreto en la identificaci\u00f3n de la realidad hist\u00f3rica designada con el signo .  ante las insuficiencias de las lecturas tradicionales se aborda la construcci\u00f3n de un modelo social alternativo basado en documentaci\u00f3n y an\u00e1lisis antropol\u00f3gicos y concretado en el tipo de sociedad de jefatura (cap. 2), que a continuaci\u00f3n se contextualiza hist\u00f3ricamente definiendo el modelo ideal de realeza indoeuropea presente en las sociedades celtas (cap. 3), a las cuales pertenecer\u00eda el mundo castre\u00f1o. De este modo se formula el modelo de sociedad heroica, como prototipo te\u00f3rico al que corresponder\u00edan las comunidades castre\u00f1as del nw de la pen\u00ednsula ib\u00e9rica, y en concreto se analiza la concepci\u00f3n c\u00e9ltica de la soberan\u00eda real y la influencia de este concepto como principio organizativo de la sociedad, de sus instituciones y funcionamiento.  a continuaci\u00f3n (cap. 4) se caracteriza la tradici\u00f3n cultural castre\u00f1a ajust\u00e1ndose a la hip\u00f3tesis celta. Se describe su pante\u00f3n de divinidades e ideolog\u00eda religiosa, y se estudia la sociedad cotidiana a trav\u00e9s del an\u00e1lisis de los antroponimos y top\u00f3nimos.
