Pilar <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>En este trabajo se ha realizado la localizaci\u00f3n en el genoma de b. Lactofermentum de un fragmento continuo de 6.727 pb que contiene los genes murc, ftsq y ftsz, pertenecientes a la agrupaci\u00f3n g\u00e9nica dcw, as\u00ed como tres marcos de lectura abiertos de funci\u00f3n desconocida, que hemos denominado como yfih, orf5 y orf6.  se ha profundizado en el estudio de los genes ftsq y ftsz, pudiendose determinar por los estudios de interrupci\u00f3n g\u00e9nica realizados, que la presencia del producto codificado por estos genes es esencial para el crecimiento y la viabilidad celular en b. Lactofermentum.  la expresi\u00f3n heter\u00f3loga del gen fstz de b. Lactofermentum en e. Coli conduce a la filamentaci\u00f3n y la presencia de este gen en b. Lactofermentum provoca alteraciones que afectan a la morfolog\u00eda celular. Este mismo hecho puede ser observado cuando el gen ftsq de b. Lactofermentum se encuentra en pl\u00e1smidos de alto n\u00famero de copias, tanto en este microoorganismo como en e. Coli.  la transcripci\u00f3n de los genes clonados en este trabajo es compleja y con la excepci\u00f3n de la orf5 todos ellos presentan mensajeros monocistr\u00f3nicos y bi-o policistr\u00f3nicos con los genes situados corriente arriba o corriente abajo de ellos.
