Se ha estudiado la distribuci\u00f3n de los mismos en diferentes \u00e1reas cerebrales y tejidos extracerebrales de rat\u00f3n, encontr\u00e1ndose que se hallan ampliamente distribuidos en las zonas estudiadas, aunque presentan niveles de expresi\u00f3n muy bajos. Se han obtenido anticuerpos policlonales espec\u00edficos para cada uno de estos transportador, usando prote\u00ednas hridas y p\u00e9ptidos sint\u00e9ticos como ant\u00edgenos. Con estos anticuerpos se han detectado, en preparaciones de prote\u00ednas de mambrana de cerebro de rat\u00f3n, el transportador de dopamina como una prote\u00edna de 82 kda, el de noradrenalina como una prote\u00edna de 70 kda y el de serotonina como una prote\u00edna de 71 kda. los anticuerpos obtenidos para el transportador de serotonina nos han permitido inmunodetectar \u00e9ste en secciones histol\u00f3gicas de enc\u00e9falo, detectando la presencia de esta prote\u00edna tanto en los cuerpos celulares de neuronas, como en fibras nerviosas pertenecientes a los n\u00facleos del
