Tres han sido las l\u00edneas principales de desarrollo. Por un lado, el establecimiento de una metodolog\u00eda aplicable en la pr\u00e1ctica al tratamiento de fuerzas electromagn\u00e9ticas en medios dielectricos disipativos, a trav\u00e9s de la definici\u00f3n de un potencial el\u00e9ctrico efectivo. Por otro lado, se han analizado los factores que intervienen en el comportamiento colectivo involucrado en la agregaci\u00f3n y orientaci\u00f3n dielectrofon\u00e9tica de sistemas de part\u00edculas. para este fin se han utilizado t\u00e9cnicas de simulaci\u00f3n de montecarlo. Se han llevado a cabo estudios sobre sistemas homog\u00e9neos y binarios, as\u00ed como sobre suspensiones de c\u00e9lulas elipsoidales. La teor\u00eda se ha contrastado realizando experimentos sobre suspensiones binarias de c\u00e9lulas de levadura y part\u00edculas de poliestireno.  finalmente, se ha analizado la din\u00e1mica de la evoluci\u00f3n temporal de los procesos de agregaci\u00f3n, determin\u00e1ndose la existencia de diferentes reg\u00edmenes.
