Primeramente se caracteriz\u00f3 la interacci\u00f3n in vitro. El metal se une preferencialmente a la prote\u00edna a las concentraciones m\u00e1s bajas, revirti\u00e9ndose el efecto al aumentar la concentraci\u00f3n. La prote\u00edna tiende a formar especies de masa molecular alta, probablemente tetr\u00e1meros, hasta que a partir de la relaci\u00f3n molar metal\/prote\u00edna 187,5, la prote\u00edna se presenta \u00fanicamente en forma monom\u00e9trica. El metal produce un cambio en la estructura tridimensional de la prote\u00edna que expone una poblaci\u00f3n de tript\u00f3fanos m\u00e1s externa y lleva al exterior gran cantidad de zonas hidrof\u00f3bicas. Este cambio conformacional, se traduce en p\u00e9rdida de h\u00e9lice alfa en la estructura secundaria de la prote\u00edna, lo cual genera una nueva estructura termorresistente. El an\u00e1lisisde la temperatura a la cu\u00e1l la p\u00e9rdida de h\u00e9lice alfa es del 50% &#8482;, supone un valor de 49  para la hexoquinasa de levadura nativa. El cambio conformacional y el proceso de monomerizaci\u00f3n provocan un descenso de la actividad de la hexoquinasa, llegando a ser la p\u00e9rdida de actividad del 87%. El aluminio inhibe a la hexoquinasa, tanto cuando el sustrato variable es la glucosa como el atp; en el caso del atp, se observa que hasta el cambio conformacional apenas existen modificaciones, mientras que tras el cambio conformacional se produce una inhibici\u00f3n mayor. Respecto al estudio in vivo, se administr\u00f3 aluminio de forma subaguda a ratas wistar comprob\u00e1ndose que el aluminio se incrementa progresivamente en el cerebro de la rata. Este hecho no produce da\u00f1os tisulares pero s\u00ed importantes alteraciones en la ultraestructura celular. Se aisl\u00f3 la enzima de cerebro de rata. La actividad espec\u00edfica de la enzima muestra leves variaciones. La caracterizaci\u00f3n de las estructuras terciaria y secundaria de la isoenzima tipo i aislada, revel\u00f3 una gran similitud con la isoen<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la
