Mar <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Ambos alelos del gen xog1 de c. Albicans, el cual, codifica una prote\u00edna con actividad exoglucanasa, fueron interrumpidos. El an\u00e1lisis enzim\u00e1tico tanto de los correspondientes extractos celulares como de los sobrenadantes de la cepa mutada, revelaron que es el gen responsable de la actividad exoglucanasa mayoritaria en c. Albicans, aunque todav\u00eda puede ser detectada una actividad residual. el mutante xog1 presenta igual tasa de crecimiento tanto en medio rico como en medio m\u00ednimo comparada con la cepa silvestre, indicando que esta enzima no es esencial para el crecimiento de c. Albicans. Tampoco se observaron diferencias con respecto a la capacidad para promover la transici\u00f3n morfol\u00f3gica. Peque\u00f1as diferencias fueron detectadas entre el mutante y la cepa silvestre con respecto a la sensibilidad a inhibidores de la s\u00edntesis de quitina y glucano. La cepa mutada es igual de virulenta que la cepa silvestre al ser ensayada en modelo de infecci\u00f3n sist\u00e9mica en ratones. la cepa mutante xog1 es una cepa hu\u00e9sped adecuada para estudiar la expresi\u00f3n de genes en c.
