Se introduce un campo vectorial de iluminacion y un potencial vector para el mismo. Ambos campos vectoriales, y las operaciones que pueden desarrollarse con ellos, demuestran ser fecundos en la resolucion de los problemas de la ingenieria de la iluminacion. Igualmente se crea un campo tensorial de iluminacion, que esta en conexion con las magnitudes y campos anteriores.  se determinan y caracterizan las funciones de intensidad de las fuentes del campo: las fuentes luminosas. Se aplican los entes anteriormente citados al calculo y representacion de las curvas isolux sobre todo tipo de superficies; asi como al calculo de los flujos luminosos.  basandose en los campos vectoriales, se demuestran y utilizan distintos metodos originales de calculo para fuentes extensas superficiales y liniales: metodo general de integracion, de contorno, de proyeccion, de
