El arte occidental contempor\u00e1neo las ha retomado, balla, stella, noland y warhol han usado estas estructuras de repetici\u00f3n como fin en s\u00ed mismo y como soporte de diversas ideas abstractas y figurativas, resultando de ello una variedad muy amplia de posibilidades que contradice totalmente la falta de libertad creativa de la que se ha acusado a las formas geom\u00e9tricas, aunque deba decir en el caso que nos ocupa que la repetici\u00f3n insistente, obsesiva y met\u00f3dica de formas geom\u00e9tricas creando redes y estructuras de repetici\u00f3n ha sido la manera m\u00e1s fruct\u00edfera que han tenido muchos artistas de afrontar y al mismo tiempo liberarse de un arte geom\u00e9trico que como tal ellos mismos rechazan. Parad\u00f3jicamente el camino se ha convertido en el fin y el m\u00e9todo en resultado.  este estudio est\u00e1 dividido en tres apartados, franjas, tri\u00e1ngulos y cuadrados, cada uno de ellos ejemplificado por una tradici\u00f3n textil y unos artistas de este siglo. No hay conclusiones globalizantes: las diferentes obras son analizadas aisladamente, en s\u00ed mismas, tejido a tejido, cuadro a cuadro, porque son muchas las cosas que separan a los distintos artistas y a los tejidos: intencionalidad, finalidad, materiales, t\u00e9cnica, dimensiones, aunque les una una similar manera de componer las mismas formas y les hermane una fuerte intensidad
