Tras definier el concpeto de modelo que se utilizar\u00e1 dentro del marco general del modelado, especificando la anal\u00edtica y los m\u00e9todos de evaluaci\u00f3n a emplear, se pasa a categorizar los factores de influencia en el tr\u00e1fico de v\u00eddeo ateni\u00e9ndose a la escala de tiempo en donde su impacto es mayor. As\u00ed se concluye que para la mayor\u00eda de los problemas donde la caracterizaci\u00f3n de este tr\u00e1fico puede resultar \u00fatil y considerando un modelo general, a nivel de aplicaci\u00f3n, son la naturaleza de la se\u00f1al audiovisual y los determinismos que impone el algoritmo de compresi\u00f3n los dos elementos m\u00e1s relevantes. El estudio de los modelos de la naturaleza de la se\u00f1al audiovisual lleva a definir una clasificaci\u00f3n de acuerdo con el tipo de estad\u00edsticos ajustados, distingui\u00e9ndose entre estad\u00edsticos de primer orden, caracterizables mediante la pdf (probability distribution function), dependencias a corto plazo o srd (short range dependence) y dependencias a largo plazo o lrd (long range dependence). De acuerdo con esta clasificaci\u00f3n la tesis efect\u00faa un an\u00e1lisis exhaustivo de los modelos existentes, comentando sus ventajas e inconvenientes y proponiendo en muchos casos mejoras de ajuste o parsimonia. Los modelos son dise\u00f1ados y evaluados considerando un amplio espectro de muestras de tr\u00e1fico real, correspondientes a secuencias de diversa naturaleza codificadas con distintos esquemas de compresi\u00f3n. Por otro lado, el mundo del modelado de tr\u00e1fico se ha visto dominado durante los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os por la presencia de nuevos fen\u00f3menos (autoseme<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos
