Estos principios los expuso lucrecio en el libro i (vv.149-634). Llegar a tal conclusi\u00f3n nos exigi\u00f3 empezar por comprender la concepci\u00f3n de epicuro acerca de la poes\u00eda, as\u00ed como la revisi\u00f3n de la misma por parte de los epic\u00fareos romanos a finales de la res publica romana.  el resultado de ese estudio fue que, contrariamente a la interpretaci\u00f3n dominante, en el seno del epicure\u00edsmo kse desarroll\u00f3 una doctrina a favor de la poes\u00eda. Doctrina llevada por lucrecio a sus \u00faltimas consecuencias cuando escribi\u00f3 en verso su exposici\u00f3n de la doctrina de epicuro. Adem\u00e1s estudiamos los dos fragmentos anteriormente citados. El estudio del libro primero nos permiti\u00f3 delimitar el conjunto de principios atomista b\u00e1sicos. principios que el an\u00e1lisis del libro v mostr\u00f3 en funcionamiento.  es decir, su uso como gu\u00eda para la selecci\u00f3n del contenido de la narraci\u00f3n, y su disposici\u00f3n en ella. Asimismo, el estudio del texto de lucrecio nos permiti\u00f3 delimitar un procedimiento de escritura que permite trasformar palabras latinas de uso com\u00fan en concptos aptos para la reflexi\u00f3n filos\u00f3fica procedimineto por el que lucrecio incorpor\u00f3 a la poes\u00eda latina el n\u00facleo de la can\u00f3nica epic\u00farea. Este permite relacionar la capacidad sensible de la persona con el uso del lenguaje y lograr bien im\u00e1genes po\u00e9ticas, bien conceptos.
