El sistema se caracteriza por el modelo de red considerado, la capacidad de transmisi\u00f3n de las l\u00edneas, el acoplamiento hidr\u00e1ulico y la presencia de retraso en el transporte de alguna de las variables de control.  se estudian los tipos de red el\u00e9ctrica: unimodal y multimodal. Surgen as\u00ed dos problemas para los que se emplean sendos modelos matem\u00e1ticos que al formalizarlos con un lenguaje m\u00e1s riguroso que el usual en la bibliografia sobre el tema, nos conduce al estudio de teoremas de existencia de soluci\u00f3n. El problema variacional resultante de ambos tiene su tratamiento por medio de la ecuaci\u00f3n de euler. En el modelo multimodal se incorporan las restricciones de la red, por lo que se impone optimizar el flujo de carga.
