Tambi\u00e9n se describe un m\u00e9todo one pot de s\u00edntesis de aminoalcoholes por yodometilaci\u00f3n de alfa-amninoaldeh\u00eddos seguido de acoplamiento con compuestos organomet\u00e1licos.  en el segundo cap\u00edtulo se estudia, en primer lugar, la diyodometilaci\u00f3n de compuestos carbon\u00edlicos utilizando diyoduro de samario y yodoformo. Se obtienen de esta forma diyodoalcoholes, cuya utilidad sint\u00e9tica se demuestra con la preparaci\u00f3n de alfa-yodoaldeh\u00eddos y alfa-hidroxi\u00e1cidos. En la segunda parte de este cap\u00edtulo se preparan diasteresolectivamente yoduros vin\u00edlicos a partir de diyodoalcoholes o-acetilados, utilizando nuevamente diyoduro de samario. esta reacci\u00f3n se extiende tambi\u00e9n a la s\u00edntesis de bromuros y cloruros vin\u00edlicos a partir de dibromo- y dicloroalcoholes acetilados. por \u00faltimo, cuando se emplean mezclas de diastereois\u00f3meros de 1-yodo-1-cloro \u00f3 1-bromo- 1-cloroalcan-2-oles o-acetilados se obtienen, con elevada diasteresolectividad, los correspondientes cloruros
