Angeles <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Las fluoroquinolonas constituyen uno de los avances m\u00e1s importantes realizados en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os en el campo de los antimicrobianos. Se trata de mol\u00e9culas que prestan un amplio aspecto de actividad que incluyen a staphylococcus aureus. Los mecanismos de resistencia a fluoroquinolonas en este microorganismo se producen por mutaciones en las topoisomerasas y por mecanismos de flujo activo.  objetivos: se estudio la implicaci\u00f3n de los mecanismos de resistencia antes mencionados en cepas cl\u00ednicas de staphylococcus aureus, con el fin de conocer su repercusi\u00f3n en la utilizaci\u00f3n de las nuevas fluoroquinoloras de 3 y 4 generaci\u00f3n.  materiales y m\u00e9todos: se utilizaron 100 cepas cl\u00ednicas de staphylococcus aureus con diferentes niveles de resistencia a quinolonas. sigueindo las normas del nccls se determin\u00f3 su sensibilidad a 23 fluoroquinolonas. Todas las cepas fueron sometidas al an\u00e1lisis de polimorfismos estructurales de cadena sencillas (sscp) para los genes gyra,gyrb,grla y nora. A continuaci\u00f3n se secuenciaron varias cepas de los distintos patrones obtenidos con el fin de determinar las mutaciones implicadas en la resistencia.
