Teresa <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>La eritropoyetina (epo) es un factor de crecimiento espec\u00edfico de la serie eritroide. Los eritroblastos inmaduros dependen de la acci\u00f3n de epo para su proliferaci\u00f3n y supervivencia y existen datos contradictorios sobre su papel en la diferenciaci\u00f3n. Epo se une a su receptor espec\u00edfico (r-epo), y el receptor activado transduce se\u00f1ales fundamentalmente a trav\u00e9s de la activaci\u00f3n de la quinasa jax2 y el factor transcripcional stat5. En este trabajo mostramos que epo mantiene la viabilidad de los eritroblastos regulando la expresi\u00f3n de bcl-xl y bcl-2, dos genes de supervivencia muy representados en el sistema hematopoy\u00e9tico. adem\u00e1s, la sobreexpresi\u00f3n de bcl-xl protege a las c\u00e9lulas de la apoptosis inducida por la ausencia de epo, y permite que se diferencien en ausencia del factor. Stat5 es el factor que se une al promotor de bcl-x e induce su transcripci\u00f3n en respuesta aepo.
