Ambos reactores, r1 y r2, est\u00e1n construidos en metacrilato con un volumen \u00fatil de 0.06 m3, altura total del lecho de 0.80 m, soporte fijo de material sint\u00e9tico inerte, superficie ocupada de 0,04 m2, operando con exiguos suministros de aire cuyos caudales variaron entre 1.5 y 6 1\/min., Y tratando caudales de hasta 2.16 m3\/dia. Los reactores presentaron dos diferencias b\u00e1sicas en su configuraci\u00f3n y dise\u00f1o, las cuales fueron: (1) la luz de paso de la malla que conforma el soporte de lecho fijo, y (2) el dispositivo de suministro de aire. En el primer caso (r1), fue utilizada una malla con luz de paso de 11 mm., Cuya superficie espec\u00edfica es 76 m2\/m3, mientras que en r2 se implant\u00f3 una malla de 6 mm de paso, con superficie espec\u00edfica de 131.4 m2\/m3. El sistema de reactores trabaj\u00f3 con agua residual urbana, tamizada peviamente a trav\u00e9s de un tamiz de luz de paso de 1.5 mm, con la aplicaci\u00f3n de elevadas cargas org\u00e1nicas que
