Pensamos que en la medida en que sepamos comprender y analizar lo que supone un uso de la evaluaci\u00f3n desde su vertiente m\u00e1s educativa, formativa y no como mero control, constataci\u00f3n, supervisi\u00f3n, etc, podremos ir avanzando hacia un acercamiento propio de contextos m\u00e1s pedag\u00f3gicos de la evaluaci\u00f3n de alumnos. En este trabajo de investigaci\u00f3n nuestra pretensi\u00f3n ha sido recuperar e ir construyendo las dos macrotradiciones que han imperado en el marco de la evaluaci\u00f3n de alumnos: la tradici\u00f3n examinadora y la tradici\u00f3n educativa de la evaluaci\u00f3n, desde la influencia de varios postulados epistemol\u00f3gicos: el curricular, el psicol\u00f3gico, el paradigm\u00e1tico, el funcional, el socio-antropol\u00f3gico, etc. Estudio que ha pretendido contextualizarse desde el marco de la evaluaci\u00f3n de los alumnos en la etapa de la educaci\u00f3n primaria, bajo enfoques claramente cr\u00edticos e iluminadores de las pr\u00e1cticas de evaluaci\u00f3n.  adem\u00e1s, el presente trabajo tiene como eje vertebral una investigaci\u00f3n llevada a cabo con 450 docentes de la comunidad Valenciana, con el objeto de acercarnos a un mayor conocimiento tanto de las creencias como de las pr\u00e1cticas de evaluaci\u00f3n del profesorado de
