La planta se ha abastecido del agua residual del influente a la estaci\u00f3n depuradora de la ciudad de Valencia antes del tratamiento primario. paralelamente al trabajo experimental en planta, se ha desarrollado una metodolog\u00eda para la calibraci\u00f3n de los par\u00e1metros relacionados con los procesos basada fundamentalmente en t\u00e9cnicas respirom\u00e9tricas y en el estudio individualizado de los diferentes procesos involucrados mediante experimentos en discont\u00ednuo realizados en laboratorio. Esta metodolog\u00eda se ha desarrollado con un especial \u00e9nfasis en la simplicidad y facilidad para poder reproducirla con la frecuencia necesaria y sin la necesidad de un equipo espec\u00edfico ni t\u00e9cnicas de laboratorio especialmente complejas.  el modelo matem\u00e1tico utilizado para reproducir los fen\u00f3menos observados ha sido el activated sludge no.2 (asm2) de la iawq, el cual se ha ampliado con objeto de incluir la capacidad desnitrificadora de los microorganismos acumuladores de polifosfatos.  la metodolog\u00eda de calibraci\u00f3n ha sido validada mediante los resultados obtenidos a partir del seguimiento anal\u00edtico de la planta piloto. La simulaci\u00f3n realizada utilizando el modelo matem\u00e1tico con el conjunto de par\u00e1metros obtenidos reproducen con precisi\u00f3n los resultados experimentales de la
