El m\u00e9todo est\u00e1 basado en la propiedad de biortogonalidad asociada a los vectores propios de cualquier operador no autoadjunto y de su operador adjunto. El m\u00e9todo propuesto permite calcular los modos de gu\u00edas de ondas con cualquier perfil, sean abiertas o cerradas, incluso de aqu\u00e9llas con un \u00edndice de refracci\u00f3n complejo, incluyendo, de forma natural, el car\u00e1cter vectorial de las ondas electromagn\u00e9ticas en la descripci\u00f3n de los modos. Para evidenciar la generalidad de la t\u00e9cnica propuesta, \u00e9sta se aplica a diferentes problemas, como son el de una fibra multicapa de perfil en w, o diversas gu\u00edas de microondas inhomog\u00e9neas. en una segunda etapa, se han obtenido, por primera vez y en el marco de una teor\u00eda vectorial, los modos de estructuras guiadoras tan complejas como son las fibras con envoltura de cristal fot\u00f3nico. Adem\u00e1s, se han identificado diferentes dise\u00f1os para los que la dispersi\u00f3n de la velocidad de grupo de estas fibras es pr\u00e1cticamente nulo.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos
