Con este trabajo extensivo se han relacionado las especies con los par\u00e1metros ambientales poniendo de manifiesto una serie de regularidades ecol\u00f3gicas hasta ahora poco conocidas o que hab\u00edan sido poco sistematizadas. En este sentido, se ha hecho un esfuerzo importante en generar tipolog\u00edas de cada uno de los ambientes, apoyado por diversos tratamientos estad\u00edsticos multivariantes. Esta aproximaci\u00f3n tiene una doble aplicaci\u00f3n: incrementar el conocimiento de los ecosistemas estudiados y discriminar grupos de especies ligados tanto a unas condiciones ecol\u00f3gicas concretas como a contextos biogeogr\u00e1ficos determinados. Asimismo estos grupos de especies se han caracterizado distinguiendo aquellas que reflejan un mayor valor indicador. Tambi\u00e9n se ha llevado a cabo una aproximaci\u00f3n intensiva bien trabajando sobre la din\u00e1mica estacional de cada ambiente o bien utilizando estudios experimentales centrados en los factores determinantes de su distribuci\u00f3n y ciclos de vida, estos directamente relacionados con factores biol\u00f3gicos b\u00e1sicos como la supervivencia, muda y calificaci\u00f3n. estos dos aspectos, extensivo e intensivo del estudio, han sido utilizandose el presente trabajo en tem\u00e1ticas aplicadas por un lado, en la reconstrucci\u00f3n paleoecol\u00f3gica de un lago carstico y, por otro
