Se analizan las razones orbitales de la torsi\u00f3n de la cadena ccn de los isocianatos y adem\u00e1s se explican las variaciones estructurales del isocianato de sililo en diferentes fases: cadena o-c-n-si lineal en fases gaseosa y disoluci\u00f3n y estructura angular en fase cristalina.  a continuaci\u00f3n se estudia el mecanismo de reacci\u00f3n de la adici\u00f3n de compuestos nucle\u00f3filos organol\u00edticos a isocianatos. los nucle\u00f3filos se estudian en su forma monom\u00e9rica y dim\u00e9rica.  el segundo cap\u00edtulo analiza diferentes reacciones de cicloadici\u00f3n (2 + 2) de cetenas e isocianatos. El mecanismo de la interacci\u00f3n entre cetenas y aldeh\u00eddos para formar beta-lactonas resulta ser de tipo concertado. se explica la acci\u00f3n catal\u00edtica de \u00e1cidos de lewis en este proceso as\u00ed como el estereocontrol cis inducido por catalizadores voluminosos. Por otro lado se propone un modelo para predecir la periselectividad y estereoqu\u00edmica en la cicloadici\u00f3n entre cetenas e iminas alfa,beta-insaturadas. Esta reacci\u00f3n puede rendir tanto beta-lactamas como -lactamas. Por \u00faltimo, se estudia la cicloadici\u00f3n entre alquenos e isocianatos.
