Se ha incluido el importante papel del agua como atenuante en la velocidad de las etapas del esquema cin\u00e9tico de reacci\u00f3n y de la dedesactivaci\u00f3n por formaci\u00f3n de coque.  se ha puesto a punto una planta piloto con reactor de lecho fijo pseudoadiab\u00e1tico (compensando las p\u00e9rdidas de calor externas) con medida de la temperatura en diferentes posiciones radiales y longitudinales y con an\u00e1lisis de los productos de reacci\u00f3n por cromatograf\u00eda de gases. Se han planteado los balances de materia y energ\u00eda necesarios para el dise\u00f1o y simulaci\u00f3n de las etapas de reacci\u00f3n y regeneraci\u00f3n en el reactor, considerando diferentes grados de simplificaci\u00f3n de los balances. De la comparaci\u00f3n de los resultados experimentales y calculados de temperatura y composici\u00f3n se han seleccionado los modelos de simulaci\u00f3n m\u00e1s adecuados, en tanto que combinan realismo y simplicidad.  se han desarrollado programas en fortran para la simulaci\u00f3n y optimaci\u00f3n del proceso mtg operando en ciclos de reacci\u00f3n-regeneraci\u00f3n en lecho fijo isotermo
