Los plasmas usados han sido del tipo arco transferido con antorchas convencionales y de grafito.  el trabajo incluye una cuidada y completa bibliograf\u00eda que se usa con acierto en una amplia introducci\u00f3n.  para los ensayos destinados a evaluar la viabilidad t\u00e9cnica del proceso se han utilizado tres tipos diferentes de cenizas volantes (procedentes de central t\u00e9rmica, incineradora de residuos s\u00f3lidos urbanos e incineradora de lodos de depuradora), que se han caracterizado exhaustivamente y ensayado bajo diferentes condiciones de operaci\u00f3n, tanto en proceso discontinuo como continuo.  los vidrios obtenidos han sido caracterizados y ensayados en lo que respecta a sus propiedades de inertizaci\u00f3n.
