Glast se localiza en oligodendrocitos interfasciculares, glt-1 se expresa en astrocitos fibrosos y eaac1 se localiza en progenitores adultos de oligodendrocitos. En los cultivos de oligodendrocitos provenientes del nervio \u00f3ptico los ensayos de captaci\u00f3n de \u00e1cido glut\u00e1mico demostraron la existencia de transportadores funcionales para dicho amino\u00e1cido con caracter\u00edsticas cin\u00e9ticas distintas al de los astrocitos. Los transportadores presentes en los oligodendrocitos presentaban una mayor afinidad por el \u00e1cido glut\u00e1mico y una menor velocidad m\u00e1xima de transporte. Los resultados del presente trabajo demuestran que los oligodendrocitos expresan transportadores funcionales para el \u00e1cido glut\u00e1mico en los tractos de substancias blanca como el nervio \u00f3ptico, y sugieren que dichas c\u00e9lulas podr\u00edan participar en la homeostasis del \u00e1cido glut\u00e1mico.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
