En el umbral l1 se trata de la doble transici\u00f3n 2s4s-6p5d y en los umbrales l2 y l3 es del tipo 2p4d-5d5d. estas transiciones son de car\u00e1cter at\u00f3mico, su secci\u00f3n eficaz decrece con el n\u00famero at\u00f3mico del lant\u00e1nido y su posici\u00f3n concuerda con los c\u00e1lculos te\u00f3ricos existentes.  de la simulaci\u00f3n te\u00f3rica de los espectros xanes del umbral k del ni2+ y co2+ en disoluci\u00f3n acuosa se obtiene que el mejor ajuste requiere la inclusi\u00f3n de la segunda capa de hidr\u00f3genos en los c\u00e1lculos, el uso de densidades de carga autoconsistentes y potenciales de canje tipo hedin-lundgvist. dichos c\u00e1lculos se basan en la aproximaci\u00f3n monoelectr\u00f3nica y en la teor\u00eda de dispersi\u00f3n multiple.  el espectro xanes del umbral k del ion fe3+ en disoluci\u00f3n acuosa presenta dos canales de excitaci\u00f3n. El canal primario proviene de la transici\u00f3n dipolar del umbral k, mientras que en el canal secundario adem\u00e1s es excitado un electr\u00f3n 2p de los ox\u00edgenos vecinos a la banda de Valencia del hierro. los mejores ajustes muestran que el canal secundario participa en un 28% en el espectro total y que su umbral de absorci\u00f3n est\u00e1 desplazado 5 ev con respecto al del canal primario. en el ion ce4+ la presencia de dos canales da lugar a dos white lines, dos transiciones multielectr\u00f3nicas y explica la reducci\u00f3n de amplitud del exafs a bajos k.  mediante el an\u00e1lisis de los espectros exafs y xanes se han confimado y complementado los resultados obtenidos en un estudio ajeno de espectroscop\u00eda de absorci\u00f3n \u00f3ptico y constituido por
