La llegada, por tanto, de los nuevos ideales sociales y culturales se realiz\u00f3 -como en muchos otros lugares de catalu\u00f1a y espa\u00f1a- muy de tarde en tarde.  en primer lugar, el estudio propone, con el fin de mostrar el paso lento del barroco s\u00f3lidamente establecido a la ilustraci\u00f3n, un recorrido r\u00e1pido por el estado de la cultura en vic a lo largo del siglo xviii en dos \u00e1mbitos tan trascendentales como la ense\u00f1anza y la actividad tipogr\u00e1fica.  seguidamente, aborda las aportaciones de los m\u00e1ximos representantes de la ilustraci\u00f3n en vic: el obispo reformista francesc de vegan y mola (tamarit de llitera, 1734-vic, 1815) y el exjesuita lluci\u00e1 galliss\u00e1 i costa (vic, 1731-1810). El primero destac\u00f3 por la creaci\u00f3n y potenciaci\u00f3n de infraestructuras culturales como el seminario concilisar y la biblioteca episcopal; y el segundo, una vez finalizado su largo exilio italiano, por su actividad como escritor, bibliotecario y profesor de griego cl\u00e1sico.  la tesis delinea, asimismo, las relaciones que estos eruditos mantuvieron con representantes estelares de otros centros de catalu\u00f1a como f\u00e9lix amat, francesc dorca&#8230; en \u00faltima instancia, se analiza la influencia de su labor en la regeneraci\u00f3n cultural posterior, conocida con el apelativo de \u00abla renaixenca\u00bb y protagonizada en vic, entre otros, por el fil\u00f3sofo jaume balmes y el poeta jacint verdaguer.  el estudio se cierra con un ap\u00e9ndice de documentos
