En primer lugar, se presenta una t\u00e9cnica sencilla para estudiar compactificaciones heter\u00f3ticas no perturbativas en 6 dimensiones. estos modelos constan de una parte perturbativa que consiste en un orbifolio abeliano, en el que no hay que satisfacer las habituales condiciones de invariancia modular. La parte no perturbativa se construye usando la informaci\u00f3n de teor\u00edas gauge asociadas a instantones puntuales, tanto en puntos suaves como en singularidades. se presentan extensiones a 4 dimensiones que permiten describir transiciones no perturbativas en las que el n\u00famero de generaciones quirales de materia var\u00eda.  por otra parte, se discuten las condiciones de consistencia de tadpoles en orientifolios en 4 dimensiones. Esto permite encontrar vac\u00edos, aparentemente bien definidos, que resultan ser an\u00f3malos.
