La conservaci\u00f3n de secuencia primaria desde levaduras hasta humanos define una nueva familia de prote\u00ednas que se caracteriza por la estructura de motivos arbrcc: un dominio \u00e1cido n-terminal, un motivo estructural ring finger, un motivo b-box, un segundo ring finger y una regi\u00f3n coiled-coil c-terminal que incluye una cremallera de leucina.  el producto ari-1 es una prote\u00edna de 59 kda que se expresa a lo largo del desarrollo en todos los tejidos, comenzando por un importante dep\u00f3sito materno en el oocito. Tanto los productos truncados codificados por los alelos ari-1 1 y ari-1 4, que carecen de los motivos rbrcc, como los alelos ari-1 2 y ari-1 3, debidos a sustituci\u00f3n puntual de una ciste\u00edna clave en cada uno los motivos ring finger, provocan letalidad recesiva durante el estad\u00edo pupal. Los fenotipos mutantes indican que se requeire en m\u00faltiples procesos, siendo la estructura muscular, la conectividad neural y la oog\u00e9nesis los m\u00e1s severamente afectados.  en ensayos de doble-h\u00edbrido en levadura, ari-1 interacciona con una nueva enzima de la v\u00eda de la ubiquitina, ubcd10, identificada en este trabajo. Esta interacci\u00f3n se realiza a trav\u00e9s del motivo ring finger n-terminal, y est\u00e1 conservada en las prote\u00ednas ari-1 y ari-2 de drosophila y vertebrados. Podr\u00eda tratarse, por tanto, de un mecanismo com\u00fan a la familia ari como componente de la maquinaria de ubiquitinaci\u00f3n, que regula funciones celulares b\u00e1sicas y desempe\u00f1a un papel central en el control de procesos diversos como la progresi\u00f3n del ciclo celular, la transducci\u00f3n de se\u00f1ales, la regulacin transcripcional, el procesamiento de ant\u00edgenos, la
