Algunos de los genes descritos, posiblemente esten involucrados en las rutas de bios\u00edntesis de motivos de gulosamina, estreptolidina y beta-lisina. Se realizaron estudios transcripcionales de los genes implicados en el \u00abcluster\u00bb biosint\u00e9tico, describiendo que se transcriben temporalmente como policistrones que incluyen los diferentes genes stt-a-sttd y sttf-sttn. La transcripci\u00f3n es dependiente de la temperatura. La secuencia nucleot\u00eddica de los genes (stta y sttm) codifican enzimas clave en ls bios\u00edntesis de estreprotricina por streptomyces rochei f20, p\u00e9ptido sintetasa i y ii. Hemos clonado y secuenciado el gen sttm y purificado la prote\u00edna (sttm) que codifica este gen, con un peso molecular de 67,3 kda. esta prote\u00edna se sobreexpres\u00f3 en escherichia coli y se purific\u00f3 cerca de la homogenidad por cromatograf\u00eda de afinidad.
