La organizaci\u00f3n gen\u00f3mica del gen de la tnt de d. melanogaster posee algunas caracter\u00edsticas relevantes. Estas incluyen el primer ex\u00f3n no codificante que se encuentra a 23 kb del exon 2. El intr\u00f3n 1 es inusualmente largo y est\u00e1 implicado en el control de su expresi\u00f3n al igual que en algunos otros genes musculares de d. melanogaster. Tambi\u00e9n presenta un microex\u00f3n de s\u00f3lo tres pb y dos sitios de poliadenilaci\u00f3n. El ex\u00f3n 4 es el ex\u00f3n m\u00e1s peque\u00f1o descrito hasta el momento, reduci\u00e9ndose as\u00ed el l\u00edmite de tama\u00f1o de un ex\u00f3n para un correcto procesamiento. El procesamiento alternativo de los exones 3,4 y 5 del gen genera cuatro tr\u00e1nscritos diferentes a lo largo del desarrollo. En el mensajero espec\u00edfico de los m\u00fasculos de vuelo y de salto est\u00e1n ausentes los tres exones mientras que el mensajero de m\u00fasculos hipod\u00e9rmicos de adulto posee los 11 exones del gen. El microex\u00f3n s\u00f3lo est\u00e1 presente en este \u00faltimo mensajero no encontrandose en el de m\u00fasculos hipod\u00e9rmicos larvarios. Los dos tipos de musculatura hipod\u00e9rmica s\u00f3lo difieren en el microex\u00f3n cuya inclusi\u00f3n en el m\u00fasculo hipod\u00e9rmico del adulto hace que aparezca una nueva lisina en la secuencia de la prote\u00edna. cambios postraduccionales en la isoforma espec\u00edfica de los m\u00fasculo de vuelo y salto parecen estar implicados en la funcionalidad de estos m\u00fasculos. de hecho, las distintas isoformas de la troponina t se fosforilan \u00abin vivo\u00bb en serina y treonina.  para entender los mecanismos de regulaci\u00f3n de la transcripci\u00f3n del gen de la tnt a lo largo del desarrollo se llev\u00f3 a cabo un estudio \u00abin vivo\u00bb de transformantes en la l\u00ednea general, obtenidos por inserci\u00f3n de elementos-p, de la expresi\u00f3n de
