El mensajero de ddcki se expresa de forma constitutiva durante todo el ciclo vital de dictyostelium. el anticuerpo generado reconoce una banda de masa molecular 49 kda, tama\u00f1o similar al deducido a partir de la secuencia, los niveles de prote\u00edna no var\u00edan significativamente a lo largo del ciclo vital de este organismo, al igual que la expresi\u00f3n del gen. Cuando se analiza la expresi\u00f3n de ddxki en bacterias se obtiene una enzima activa que se autofosforila y fosforila case\u00edna, adem\u00e1s se detecta una regulaci\u00f3n por heparina y polilisina.  ensayos de inmunofluorescencia muestran que ddcki se localiza tanto en el citosol como en el nucleode c\u00e9lulas de dictyostelim. No hemos podido obtener cepas mutantes que presenten el gen de ddcki alterado, lo que sugiere que esta porte\u00edna es esencial para el crecimiento vegatativo de este organismo. La sobre-expresi\u00f3n de ddcki general c\u00e9lulas resistentes al tratamiento con hidroxiurea, no as\u00ed con cisplatino. Aunque estas c\u00e9lulas no tienen alteraciones fenot\u00edpicas aparentes durante la diferenciaci\u00f3n, la sobre-expresi\u00f3n de la prote\u00edna provoca un enlentecimiento de los procesos
