Esta activaci\u00f3n es variable pues el antioxidante pdtc y la nac activaron la jnk de forma intensa y la bha debilmente. El pdtc y la bha activaron la jnk de forma sostenida y la nac lo hizo de forma transitoria: el pdtc adem\u00e1s activ\u00f3 la p38 en linfocitos.  el pdtc estimul\u00f3 la transcripci\u00f3n de c-jun y c-fos y la capacidad de uni\u00f3n de al dna y la capacidad transactivadora de ap-1 en linfocitos t. Esta activaci\u00f3n se llev\u00f3 a cabo sin afectar la ruta ras\/raf\/mek\/erk.  el pdtc, adem\u00e1s, inhibe la uni\u00f3n al dna y la capacidad transactivadora de nfat en linfocitos t. Esta inhibici\u00f3n est\u00e1 acompa\u00f1ada de la estimulaci\u00f3n de la salida r\u00e1pida del n\u00facleo de los miembros fnat1 y nfat2 en linfocitos t activados; probablemente debido a la estimulaci\u00f3n de una o m\u00e1s nfat quinasa(s). Esta inhibici\u00f3n supone un nuevo mecanismo de inmunosupresi\u00f3n; distinto al observado para csa y fk506.  la p38 y la jnk mapk se unen in vivo y fosforilan in vitro a nfat1 en linfocitos. pero s\u00f3lo la expresi\u00f3n ect\u00f3pica de la p38 promueve la exclusi\u00f3n nuclear del factor de transcripci\u00f3n transfectado en c\u00e9lulas hela. Por otro lado, la actividad de la p38 interviene en la exportaci\u00f3n de nfat1 del n\u00facleo de los linfocitos activados. Por tanto, distintos miembros de la familia nfat son regulados selectivamente por diferentes quinasas y la p38, incialmente descrito como activable por estres, desempe\u00f1a una importante
