El modelo causal es sometido a contraste, valorando su ajuste, con analisis de estructuras de covarianza, en una muestra de 324 alumnos-as de ense\u00f1anza secundaria, empleando el programa eqs (bentler, 1989). Se concluye, coincidiendo con los resultados de otros estudios realizados tambien en ambientes naturales de aula (covington y omelich, 1979, 1984; montero y alonso, 1992), que las atribuciones y sus dimensiones causales juegan un moderado papel al predecir el rendimiento academico. La solucion mas coherente con las tesis de weiner obtiene el indice de ajuste mas bajo (cfi= 0,986;  2= 160,809; p= 0,07197) y da cuenta de una proporcion de varianza menor que el modelo propuesto
