El virus de la peste porcina africana, un deoxivirus icosaedrico de la familia asfarvirdae, hemos demostrado que induce apoptosis y codifica dos fases de lectura abierta implicadas en la regulaci\u00f3n de dicha muerte celular, la a224l y la a179l, objeto del trabajo de esta tesis.  la caracterizaci\u00f3n del gen a179l as\u00ed como de la prote\u00edna codificada por dicho gen nos ha permitido determinar que pa179l es una prote\u00edna hom\u00f3loga a las prote\u00ednas de la familia de bel-2 reguladoras de la apoptosis, indispensable en el ciclo de replicaci\u00f3n del vppa y que se expresa tanto a tiempos tempranos como tard\u00edos de la infecci\u00f3n. por distintas aproximaciones hemos demostrado que pa179l es capaz de inhibir tanto la apoptosis inducida en c\u00e9lulas de mam\u00edfero, utilizando inhibidores de la s\u00edntesis de macromol\u00e9culas, como la apoptosis inducida por la infecci\u00f3n de virus. Adem\u00e1s por ensayos de mutag\u00e9nesis dirigida hemos demostrado que pa179l inhibe la apoptosis con un mecanismos similar al del bcl-2 puesto que los dominios estructurales de pa179l bh1 y bh2 son indispensable para la funci\u00f3n de la prote\u00edna, al igual que est\u00e1 descrito para otras prote\u00ednas de la familia de bcl-2. Por inmunofluorescencia presenta un patr\u00f3n de localizaci\u00f3n mitocondrial. Por \u00faltimo hemos demostrado que la expresi\u00f3n de pa179l inhibe la apoptosis inducida por baculovirus en c\u00e9lulas de insecto y apoya los datos obtenidos en c\u00e9lulas de mam\u00edfero, adem\u00e1s implica a la prote\u00edna en el mantenimiento del anclaje de las c\u00e9lulas infectadas a la matriz extracelular minimizando la apoptosis..<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos
