El modelo anal\u00edtico propuesto establece un v\u00ednculo entre los modelos te\u00f3ricos continuos y discretos com\u00fanmente empleados para representar problemas de localizaci\u00f3n de deformaciones. El desarrollo del modelo num\u00e9rico se orienta hacia la obtenci\u00f3n de una formulaci\u00f3n de elementos finitos capaz de representar adecuadamente el modelo anal\u00edtico propuesto, sin presentar la fuerte dependencia de la respuesta con la discretizaci\u00f3n por elemento finitos, frecuentemente observada en las formulaciones convencionales utilizadas para la soluci\u00f3n de esta clase de problemas. El estudio se centra en problemas cuasi-est\u00e1ticos de s\u00f3lidos elasto-pl\u00e1sticos y elasto-degradables, considerando la teor\u00eda de deformaciones infinitesimales. A partir de los resultados num\u00e9ricos obtenidos con la formulaci\u00f3n propuesta se concluye que los modelos anal\u00edtico y num\u00e9rico desarrollados son capaces de describir los mecanismos de colapso relacionados con el fen\u00f3meno de localizaci\u00f3n de deformaciones, prediciendo muy satisfactoriamente los resultados experimentales existentes, as\u00ed como los obtenidos a
