Por un lado, el an\u00e1lisis algor\u00edtmico de las t\u00e9cnicas de control basadas en cell mapping y su interpretaci\u00f3n dentro del marco de las t\u00e9cnicas de optimizaci\u00f3n. como consecuencia de este an\u00e1lisis, se han introducido mejoras significativas en los algoritmos de control existentes basados en cell mapping.  en la segunda vertiente de la investigaci\u00f3n, se proponen nuevas metodolog\u00edas de dise\u00f1o de controladores \u00f3ptimos basadas en las t\u00e9cnicas de cell mapping, con las que se consigue una alta eficiencia computacional, as\u00ed como una extensi\u00f3n del \u00e1mbito de aplicaci\u00f3n de este tipo de controladores a problemas de control \u00f3ptimo no abordados hasta la fecha con las t\u00e9cnicas de cell mapping. La eficiencia de estas nuevas metodolog\u00edas se logra a trav\u00e9s de la integraci\u00f3n de tres potentes herramientas conceptuales: las t\u00e9cnicas de cell mapping, el principio de optimalidad de bellman y las t\u00e9cnicas de inteligencia artificial. Por otra parte, el dise\u00f1o de controladores \u00f3ptimos mediante la combinaci\u00f3n de las t\u00e9cnicas de cell mapping y redes neuronales artificiales, permite abordar problemas de seguimiento de trayectorias en tiempo real, incluso en sistemas de dimensi\u00f3n elevada. mediante algunos ejemplos ilustrativos se demuestra la aplicabilidad de los controladores dise\u00f1ados.  finalmente, la presente tesis concluye con la aplicaci\u00f3n de las metodolog\u00edas propuestas en control \u00f3ptimo de robots manipuladores, planteando un nuevo enfoque en la planificaci\u00f3n y control de
