Pilar Ciria Ciria <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>En el presente trabajo se ha realizado un estudio comparativo de la producci\u00f3n de biomasa de once clones de chopo en condiciones de corta rotaci\u00f3n (3, 4, 5 y 6 a\u00f1os) y alta densidad de plantaci\u00f3n (10000, 5000, 2500 y 1666 plantas\/ha).  tambi\u00e9n se ha evaluado el coste de producci\u00f3n de un cultivo de chopo a gran escala en las condiciones aparentemente m\u00e1s favorables, obtenidas a partir de los resultados de la experimentaci\u00f3n y se ha estimado el balance energ\u00e9tico de la producci\u00f3n de biomasa, en las mismas condiciones consideradas para la evaluaci\u00f3n de costes.  al final de cada turno se realiz\u00f3 una corta a ras de suelo, estudiando peso total de la planta, peso del tallo principal, altura y di\u00e1metro del mismo, n\u00famero de ramas con di\u00e1metro mayor de 2 cm. Altura a la que crece la primera rama y caracter\u00edsticas qu\u00edmicoenerg\u00e9ticas de la biomasa producida.  las mejores producciones se obtuvieron con los clones h\u00edbridos p. Trichocarpa x p. deltoides, destacando el clon raspalje. La situaci\u00f3n m\u00e1s favorable se di\u00f3 realizando la corta edad de 6 a\u00f1os con densidad de plantaci\u00f3n de 10000 plantas\/ha. El balance energ\u00e9tico de la producci\u00f3n de biomasa de chopo obtenida fue positivo.
