Estos sistemas involucran el desarrollo de aplicaciones heterog\u00e9neas, con requerimientos de tolerancia a fallos, limitaciones de tiempo real y en muchas ocasiones caracter\u00edsticas de distribuci\u00f3n.  los recientes trabajos en el campo del desarrollo de proyectos software complejos, incluyendo sistemas orientados a componentes distribuidos y desarrollo de agentes cooperantes, pueden aportar una serie de ventajas en el control industrial avanzado.  en esta tesis se identifican varias t\u00e9cnicas que facilitar\u00e1n desarrollos futuros en este campo, as\u00ed como algunos de los requerimientos que deben cumplir arquitecturas software aplicables al control industrial distribuido. Como consecuencia de esto se propone y se desarrolla una arquitectura que permite la implementaci\u00f3n de aplicaciones industriales distribuidas, al tiempo que aporta otra serie de funcionalidades de gran utilidad en cualquier tipo de sistema software complejo.  tambi\u00e9n se describen algunos ejemplos de sistemas que, o bien se encuentran ya en funcionamiento, o bien se est\u00e1n desarrollando en la actualidad y que han permitido, no solo demostrar la utilidad del sistema que se presenta en esta tesis, sino tambi\u00e9n hacer de \u00e9l un marco de trabajo robusto y
