El presente trabajo de investigaci\u00f3n se concibi\u00f3 con el prop\u00f3sito de estudiar la regulaci\u00f3n de la expresi\u00f3n de la ciclooxigenasa tipo 2 (cox-2) por no en c\u00e9lulas mesangiales humanas. El conjunto de las observaciones realizadas a lo largo de este trabajo sugieren que en un primer momento, el no potenciar\u00eda la respuesta inflamatoria amplificando tanto su propia s\u00edntesis como la expresi\u00f3n de cox-2. Sin embargo, posteriormente cuando los niveles de no alcanzan un determinado l\u00edmite o las c\u00e9lulas consiguen cierto grado de activaci\u00f3n, este radical podr\u00eda contribuir a la inhibici\u00f3n de la expresi\u00f3n de cox-2 y de la \u00f3xido n\u00edtrico sintasa inducible (nosi), limitando de este modo la amplitud y duraci\u00f3n de la respuesta
