Rosario <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>La tesis consiste en una sistematizaci\u00f3n de la exposici\u00f3n de j. H. Newman sobre el asentimiento expuesto en su an essay in aid of a grammar of assent.  newman entiende por asentimiento la aceptaci\u00f3n de una proposici\u00f3n en tanto que verdadera. Aunque supone una afirmaci\u00f3n es m\u00e1s que una aserci\u00f3n. Tambi\u00e9n se distingue claramente del consentimiento, en el que no necesariamente se considera la proposici\u00f3n como verdadera.  el cap\u00edtulo i muestra la importancia del estudio newmaniano sobre el asentimiento ante la ausencia de referencias al respecto en la historia de la filosof\u00eda. Las primeras aportaciones provienen del estoicismo, filosof\u00eda conocidas por newman durante sus primeros a\u00f1os de estudio, siendo anglicano. El autor se opuso a las posturas de descartes y locke, quienes hacen alguna alusi\u00f3n al tema. y en general su filosof\u00eda es un di\u00e1logo con la modernidad, una respuesta al liberalismo y al cartesianismo. Queda patente que newman es un pensador independiente e interdisciplinario sus reflexiones no tienen un enfoque expl\u00edcitamente metaf\u00edsico, aunque coincide en sus conclusiones con los autores que s\u00ed lo son.  el cap\u00edtulo ii est\u00e1 dedicado a sistematizar las consideraciones que newman anota respecto al proceso de conocimiento previo al asentimiento. Distingue dos v\u00edas que inician ambas en la experiencia, dando lugar a los dos tipos de asentimiento que considera el autor. una, parte de las cosas concretas y asiente a la proposiciones singulares. La otra, considera la verdad contenida en una proposici\u00f3n universal. el primer modo de asentir lo llama \u00abreal\u00bb, mientras que al segundo lo denomina \u00abnocional\u00bb. el asentimiento nocional guarda una mayor relaci\u00f3n con la inferencia y la corteza. El asentimiento real tiene una vertiente pr\u00e1ctica que no tiene el aspecto te\u00f3rico de lo universal.  por \u00faltimo, el cap\u00edtulo iii profundiza en el asentimiento propiamente dicho.
