Dentro de este grupo se han estudiado los aros de insonorizaci\u00f3n, conocidos como \u00abring dampers\u00bb o \u00abfriction dampers\u00bb. El objetivo de esta tesis es el establecimiento del principio de funcionamiento y la optimizaci\u00f3n de los aros de insonorizaci\u00f3n.  esta tesis se ha realizado de forma paralela al proyecto de investigaci\u00f3n brite euram denominado \u00absilent freight\u00bb, cuyo objetivo ha sido el desarrollo de metodolog\u00edas de an\u00e1lisis y el establecimiento de medidas para la reducci\u00f3n del ruido emitido por los trenes de mercanc\u00edas.  se han desarrollado modelos de uno y dos grados de libertad mediante los cuales se estudia el amortiguamiento por rozamiento empleando m\u00e9todos anal\u00edticos. Estos modelos pueden considerarse como una primera aproximaci\u00f3n del sistema rueda\/aro real, que permite determinar la influencia de varios par\u00e1metros sobre la cantidad de energ\u00eda disipada por rozamiento.  los modelos de interacci\u00f3n rueda\/aro se han desarrollado tanto en el dominio del tiempo como en el de la frecuencia. El modelo en el tiempo es un modelo exacto, ya que no se hacen suposiciones relativas a las fuerzas que actuan sobre el sistema. El modelo en frecuencia es aproximado, ya que es necesario realizar ciertas suposiciones para poder modelizar un sistema nolineal. Mediante el modelo en el dominio de la frecuencia, se analiza la influencia de par\u00e1metros tales como la masa del aro, el apriete, la situaci\u00f3n del aro y n\u00famero de aros, sobre el nivel de amortiguamiento de la rueda.  dentro del \u00e1mbito experimental, se presentan resultados de medidas realizadas tanto en laboratorio como en v\u00eda. De los ensayos en laboratorio se han obtenido valores de reducci\u00f3n de nivel de ruido y aumento de amortiguamiento.
