Se han estudiado factores cl\u00ednicos e histol\u00f3gicos relacionados con el pron\u00f3stico y mediante inmunohistoqu\u00edmica se ha estudiado ki-67(mib-1), p53, bcl-2 y p21 ras.  resultados: se obtienen diferencias estad\u00edsticas entre adenomas y carcinomas foliculares. La prote\u00edna p53 no se expresa en adenomas y lo hace en aquellos carcinomas con mayor desdiferenciaci\u00f3n histol\u00f3gica. Tambi\u00e9n se correlaciona con la edad avanzada, el mayor tama\u00f1o y progresi\u00f3n tumoral. La expresi\u00f3n de bcl-2 es alta en tejido tiroideo normal y en adenomas, se conserva en carcinomas y disminuye en relaci\u00f3n a la desdiferenciaci\u00f3n histol\u00f3gica perdi\u00e9ndose totalmente en los carcinomas anapl\u00e1sicos. En carcinomas medulares su p\u00e9rdida se correlaciona con la mortalidad. La expresi\u00f3n intensa de la prote\u00edna p21 ras se asocia significativamente en carcinomas papilares con estadios cl\u00ednicos avanzados.  conclusiones: las diferencias en la actividad proliferativa entre adenomas y carcinomas foliculares puede ayudar al diagn\u00f3stico diferencial. la expresi\u00f3n de p53 y la p\u00e9rdida de expresi\u00f3n de bcl-2 se correlacionan con el proceso de desdiferenciaci\u00f3n histol\u00f3gica.
