Sin embargo, apenas se conoce la regulacion de dopamina (inhibidor de prl) a nivel de tirosin-hidroxilasa, enzima clave en su biosintesis ni el papel de vip como liberador de prl. La regulacion de gh tambien presenta muchas interrogantes.  se estudiaron 3 momentos diferentes de la pre\u00f1ez (dias 8, 15 y 20) y 2 de lactancia (dias 3 y 8) en ratas hembra wistar. Los resultados obtenidos fueron: la hiperprolactinemia de la fase inicial de la pre\u00f1ez y de la lactancia obedece a mecanismos transcripcionales, y en su regulacion aparecen implicados un descenso del tono dopaminergico inhibidor, por menor expresion del gen de th, y una mayor liberacion del vip hipotalamico (pre\u00f1ez y lactancia) e hipofisario (lactancia). El aumento de gh de la fase inicial de la pre\u00f1ez igualmente se debe a mecanismos transcripcionales, coincidiendo con una disminucion de las principales se\u00f1ales inhibidoras de su secrecion, como son: disminucion del igf-i circulante (por proteolisis de bp-3 y disminucion de su expresion en higado), inhibicion de liberacion de igf-i hipofisario e hipotalamico e inhibicion de liberacion de ss.
