Este impactador funciona fijando la distancia de la tobera al colector, l=4 mm, el caudal m\u00e1sico de gas, m\u00c2\u00bf, y la capacidad volum\u00e9trica de bombeo, q, permitiendo trabajar a una presi\u00f3n casi fija aguas debajo de la tobera de diametro variable dn. Se han realizado experimentos cerca de 30 torr, con gotas de 78 a 490 nm de diametro, que eran retenidas a aperturas de la tobera entre 1.3 y 2.5 mm. Se ha observado una excelente resoluci\u00f3n cuando el n\u00famero de reynolds del chorro y la distancia de la tobera al colector se mantienen en los rangos 175 &lt;-re&lt;-700 y 0.75 &lt;-l\/dn&lt;-3.33. este instrumento tambi\u00e9n podr\u00eda trabajar a presi\u00f3n atmosf\u00e9rica, cubriendo un rango estimado de tama\u00f1os entre 0.5 y 50 micras, en funci\u00f3n del caudal m\u00e1sico de gas utilizado.  se ha realizado un estudio experimental sistem\u00e1tico sobre la infuencia del n\u00famero de reynolds y del cociente l\/dn en la resoluci\u00f3n de los impactadores inerciales. Para este fin, se ha utilizado un espectr\u00f3metro de presi\u00f3n variable con enfoque previo y voltaje repulsivo entre la tobera y el colector que permite alcanzar resoluciones muy altas. Se ha variado el n\u00famero de reynolds entre 22 y 2700 y el cociente l\/dn entre 1 y 4. Se ha observado la mejor resoluci\u00f3n para l\/dn=1, en todo el rango de numero de reynolds estudiado. En el caso de l\/dn=3 se observa un claro deterioro de la resoluci\u00f3n a re =900 debido a la presencia de turbulencia en el chorro que divide la resoluci\u00f3n por 4. Este deterioro es a\u00fan m\u00e1s dram\u00e1tico en el caso de l\/dn=4, donde se observa el escal\u00f3n a re=500, llegando a dividirse la resoluci\u00f3n por 7.  el caso de los chorros cortos, correspondientes a l\/dn &lt;-1, ha sido estudiado en un impactador de presi\u00f3n variable, pero sin enfoque previo ni potencial repulsivo.
